24 hour Satellite loop in the Eastern Pacific. This shows the development from a potential storm, to a brief depression, and now a full tropical storm. It is not forecast to reach hurricane status. It has the potential to drop plenty of heavy rain across the Mexican Coast along w some gusty winds at times. | 7Weather

Here's a loop of the Himawari-9 visible satellite loop. Notice a black "spot" moving northeast from near Australia towards the Marianas? That's the ongoing solar eclipse! Additionally, in the center of the globe and moving west (to the left) you can see a less-pronounced lighter area. That's the brighter reflection of the sun moving over the tropical Pacific. The occasional black areas that pop up over west Micronesia signal calm winds and seas within the surface trough perched just south of Pal

Here is a Full Disk, Western Hemisphere satellite loop showing 2 distinct tropical systems (Featuring the Pacific's Hurricane Norma on the left, that will be moving north and bringing high impacts to Cabo San Lucas over the next few days, and the North Atlantic's Tropical Storm Tammy at the right center - several hundred miles to the east of St Lucia). Tammy won't strengthen too much as she recurves to the north, then misses Bermuda to the east late this weekend. Also noted in the animated image

Jan 16: visible satellite loop reveals hurricane force low pressure churning across the E Pacific. ASCAT overpass just before 2100 UTC returned widespread storm and hurricane force winds along the southwest quadrant of the low, and a recent sea state analysis reveals significant wave heights have increased to 42 feet (13 meters). The first loop in the video is a 9 day, partial life cycle IR animation of Nuri, from Tropical Depression to Super Typhoon status, to a rapidly intensifying, post-tropical low pressure that ultimately deepened into one of the strongest known Northern Pacific cyclones on record. The second loop is animated at a slightly slower speed, and includes details as it pertains to Nuri's strength. At the very end of the video, OPC surface analysis charts are included.
