DNR wildlife staff recently used explosives to remove a beaver dam that was keeping water levels too high for good wild rice production in Rice-Skunk Wildlife Management Area near Little Falls. The agency is partnering with Ducks Unlimited to trap beaver and remove dams to improve conditions for wild rice, an important staple for waterfowl.
