These two juvenile eastern cottontail rabbits may look chummy, but in the wild, this species typically prefers to lead a solitary lifestyle. Occupying a home range of 5-8 acres, these rabbits will spend most of the day hidden in a hollow, thicket, or brush pile, napping and grooming themselves before emerging at night to forage under the cover of darkness.
