Jun 25, 2011 · Expect a lot of traffic. A weekend at the Zoo is essentially hell. There is usually so many people that it can be aggravating at times when trying to walk around. Going during the week tends to be easier. Wednesdays are donation days so you can get in free, but that's when EVERYONE flocks to the Zoo.

Feb 6, 2022 · Great work! I'm a tour guide at the Bronx Zoo and you nailed how the Lion House used to look perfectly! With advancements in exhibit design the lions were moved to their much larger, naturalistic outdoor area in the African Plains in 1941.

The Bronx Zoo. It's huge, historical, and it's a research zoo that does a ton of field work and wildlife conservation. The Central Park Zoo, the NY Aquarium, the Queens Zoo and the Prospect Park Zoo are all run by the same organization as the Bronx Zoo (the WCS) but they are much smaller. If you're seeking a zoo, you should go to the Bronx Zoo.
