OAKLAND — A major fire broke out in East Oakland near the Coliseum on Friday at a commercial warehouse near homes.

Firefighters are actively battling a four-alarm fire at a warehouse on the 5200 block of 8th Street in Oakland.

Oakland Fire Department Battalion Chief Porya Jeddi told KTVU that the entire warehouse was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived, which he said was "not normal" for a building of that size.
