NJ Transit is back on track — literally. Trains are up and running and have resumed their normal schedules following the first rail strike in decades in New Jersey. NJ Transit and the union representing engineers reached a tentative agreement on Sunday night.

A tentative agreement has been reached to end New Jersey's first statewide transit strike in more than 40 years.

The union that represents the state’s passenger-train drivers, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, said it called off the strike at about 6 p.m., and NJ Transit said its trains would begin running a full schedule again on Tuesday morning.
