The French chef — who is the subject of a new steamy Apple TV+ series — was much spicier than his reputation as an elaborate pastry genius might initially suggest.

The origin story of legendary chef Marie-Antoine Carême, now a flirty and fun series on Apple TV+ starring Benjamin Voisin, is incredibly French.

Carême takes place during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte after the French Revolution. The chef, played by Benjamin Voisin, is hired by a French foreign minister Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord (Jérémie Renier) to make creative pastries that will impress the people with whom he’s negotiating.
