Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign forward Will Wright from Salford City despite interest from Arsenal, a source has told ESPN.

Liverpool had looked like they were the frontrunners for the striker’s services about two weeks ago when they offered £100,000 plus add-ons, but it appeared like they were going to miss out when Arsenal entered the race and offered £250,000 plus major add-ons for the League Two striker.

Arsenal are set to miss out to Liverpool in the race to sign teenage star Will Wright. Liverpool have agreed a deal worth £200,000 with Salford City for the 17-year-old striker, who scored more than 50 goals across age groups last season. Wright underwent a medical on Tuesday and a deal to take him to Merseyside is now in its final stages.
