A winter storm swept across much of Central Illinois on Sunday, with some areas even seeing over 8” of snow. Illinois State Police said that the snowy weather led to slippery conditions and an increased number of traffic crashes.

Multiple vehicles were damaged following a crash early Monday morning on the Eisenhower Expressway. Illinois State Police said the crash happened just before 5 a.m. on westbound I-290 near Austin Boulevard.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) — An Illinois State Police (ISP) squad car was struck on I-55 on Sunday morning. ISP says at 10:54 a.m. a trooper was responding to a three-vehicle crash at milepost 105 on I-55 North.
