An 18-year-old Ohio man drowned while swimming in Lake Michigan off Grand Haven City Beach Monday afternoon. Grand Haven police responded to Grand Haven City Beach Area 8 around 1:40 p.m. Monday. Witnesses reported that a man without a life jacket was struggling in the water beyond the buoys.

Swimmers on Grand Haven City Beach pulled an unresponsive person out of the water Monday afternoon. Just after 2 p.m., 13 ON YOUR SIDE's Grand Haven Beach camera showed a group of beachgoers going into the wavey conditions and pulling a person to shore. Once on dry sand, rescuers started life-saving measures.
