MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Federal records related to the investigation into the 1968 assassination of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. have been released, following the disclosure in March of tens of thousands of documents about the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said the files include discussion of potential leads, internal FBI memos detailing the progress of the case and more.

The long-sealed files related to the FBI’s yearslong surveillance of civil rights icon Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were released Monday by the Trump administration.
