The Chicago Cubs are going to have to fend off some of the richest clubs in baseball if they want to keep their superstar.

The Cubs entered a three-game series against the Reds with a three-game cushion atop the National League Central.

That was an obvious nonstarter, given Swanson’s sense of style. Instead, the Cubs are making the Swanson flow headband a Wrigley Field giveaway next weekend, so fans can rock the look of his jet-black hair. Around the team, though, it is more about substance.

The Chicago Cubs today activated righthander Ryan Brasier from the 15-day injured list. To make room for Brasier on the 26-man active roster, righthander Ethan Roberts has been optioned to Triple-A Iowa.
