New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo had an incredible start to his NFL career. He appeared in all of the Giants' eight games so far this season with five starts. In those games, he had 101 carries for 410 yards and five touchdowns. He also caught 24 passes for 207 yards and two more scores.
Adding to the rookie running back's woes is a gruesome ankle injury that he suffered in Week 8. Skattebo underwent ankle surgery on Sunday, which presumably means his season is over. The 23-year-old running back totaled 617 yards from scrimmage and scored seven touchdowns in eight games this season.
The New York Giants will be without their leading rusher moving forward, as rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffered a dislocated ankle in Week 8, all but officially knocking him out for the remainder of the 2025 season.

In addition to Skattebo, the NFL also fined running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. $5,731 for "unnecessary roughness," alleging "use of the helmet" early in the first quarter. The play in question was a two-yard run on first-and-10 and, like Skattebo, did not result in a penalty on the field. For Tracy, it was his first fine of the season.
