Trump spent three days issuing a barrage of public assurances, calmly delivered threats, contradictory signals and eventually a curse-filled damnation of Israeli and Iranian leaders.

The president announced a truce and Israel later said its airports were returning to full activity and it was lifting restrictions on civilian movements.
