Sixteen teams in total make the NBA playoffs, eight teams from both the Eastern and Western Conference. The top six seeds in each conference advance based on the regular season record. The final two seeds in each conference are determined by the NBA Play-In Tournament.

On Thursday, the No. 3-seeded New York Knicks defeated the No. 6 Detroit Pistons in Game 6 to advance to the second round by winning on a 3-point dagger from Jalen Brunson, the Clutch Player of the Year.

The play-in — the NBA’s version of the Wild Card round — concluded on April 18, with two games: Miami defeating Atlanta and Memphis knocking off Dallas. The playoffs start on Saturday, April 19, with four games, and will run through mid-June.
