Erin is expected to continue to fluctuate in intensity as it undergoes an eyewall replacement cycle.

“A gradual turn to the north is expected later today and on Tuesday,” said NHC senior hurricane specialist John Cangialosi.

Erin became a Category 3 hurricane in the Caribbean early Saturday and is expected to strengthen further during the day, the National Hurricane Center reported.

Erin is expected to produce dangerous surf and rip currents along the beaches of the Bahamas, much of the East Coast of the U.S., including Florida, and Atlantic Canada next week.
