Both have won this tournament once and are perfectly aware of its importance for the race for the first position in the ATP rankings as well.
The duo came up against British star Jack Draper and his partner Jessica Pegula in the first round of the revamped competition, with Alcaraz facing a rapid turnaround to be in New York to take part, having won the Cincinatti Open less than 24 hours earlier. However, he and Raducanu were ultimately beaten 4-2, 4-2 by Draper and Pegula.
