AMD, GPU and RX 9070 XT
AMD and Nvidia could be set for epic GPU showdown with RX 9070 and 9070 XT going on sale at the same time as the RTX 5080
Rumored RDNA 4 pre-order date is January 23, with GPUs likely to go on sale maybe a week later – when the RTX 5080 arrives
AMD Kicks Off 2025 With Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT GPUs
Hot new GPUs are making CES 2025 a particularly noteworthy event. Nvidia announced its RTX 50 series Blackwell GPUs, and AMD unleashed its Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT. The timing sets up another exciting showdown between the graphics giants and introduces a new twist: Intel has made another attempt to enter the game (at least in the midrange market),
AMD might have told us little about its RDNA 4 graphics cards but at least we know the Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT have 16 GB of VRAM
16 GB of VRAM will put the 9070/9070 XT in line with the Radeon RX 7800 XT, which makes sense given the 9070, if it weren't for AMD's naming scheme change-up, would be an RX 7800 XT. It also puts it in line with the newly announced RTX 5070 Ti and 5080, which will both have 16 GB of (GDDR7) VRAM.

IGN sneakily put the RX 9070 graphics card through its paces in the built-in benchmark for Black Ops 6, and it appears to equal NVIDIA's RTX 4080 Super.

AMD gave a brief preview of its next-gen Radeon RX 9070 and RDNA 4 architecture at CES 2025. One thing is clear: AI is a focus.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT benchmark leaks show it beating the Nvidia RTX 4080 Super
With AMD's CES 2025 press conference short of new gaming GPU details, fresh benchmark leaks show the RX 9070 XT really is looking strong.
AMD may have underestimated the RX 9070
AMD's upcoming RX 9070 was benchmarked during CES 2025, and although it's not much, it's promising. The Latest Tech News, Delivered to Your Inbox
