CROWN POINT — The Indiana attorney general and Lake County prosecutor have spared the life of a serial killer without advance notice to the family of her youngest victim.

Defense attorney Nick Thiros said in November he believed a plea agreement would be filed in December. Neither Thiros nor his client could be reached for comment Thursday.
