LAKE BUCKHORN, Ohio — A tornado with winds over 100 mph touched down Monday in Holmes County, the National Weather Service confirmed. The EF-1 tornado touched down just before 5:30 p.m. near Lake Buckhorn and was on the ground for three minutes, covering 1.32 miles. It had a maximum width of 80 yards and wind speed of 105 mph.
Homes were damaged and trees uprooted June 6 in Spring Hill. The National Weather Service confirms an EF-0 tornado hit the area.
Along with the tornado confirmed in Wattsburg, the National Weather Service was able to confirm two other tornadoes, including one in Canadohta Lake.
The EF-1 tornado touched down briefly at 5:37 pm Monday evening with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph, which caused damage to trees and structures on Sugartown Road at county highway 71 in northeast Great Valley. The damage was consistent with a weak tornado.
The National Weather Service has released additional details in its preliminary reports on two tornadoes that touched down in northwestern Pennsylvania on Monday.
