Mark Carney spent a decade as one of the most credible voices on climate action and the economy. Now as prime minister, he is scrapping emissions reductions policies, backing LNG projects and talking pipelines.

Kent State announced Wednesday that Carney had been named the team’s permanent head coach. The Golden Flashes are 3-5 so far this season and have an outside shot at a bowl game. Kent State had won just one game over the past two seasons combined and hasn’t gone to a bowl game since 2021.

Kent State didn’t have to conduct a national search in order to find its 24th head coach in program history. The Golden Flashes promoted interim head coach Mark Carney to an official head coaching role Thursday.
