NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Two West Haven police officers are recovering Wednesday after they were shot during an altercation with a suspect while executing a search warrant. The suspect was killed in the altercation, according to police.

New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker said that bringing Officer Oscar Diaz back on the force "is something we don't have a choice in."
