Scheffler has not played competitive golf since he won The Showdown alongside Rory McIlroy in mid-December. He arrived in Las Vegas for the exhibition match against Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau fresh off a victory at the Hero World Challenge.

According to Golfweek and NBC Sports, Scheffler — who welcomed son Bennett with his wife Meredith last May — said he broke a glass while making ravioli with his family on Christmas Day and hurt his hand.

Scottie Scheffler felt frustrated sitting at home for two tournaments he normally plays while recovering from glass puncturing the palm of his right hand while making ravioli. A big part of him was thankful the injury wasn’t worse.
