Chicago Cubs' Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg sends a heartfelt message and update on his health to Cubs' fans amid his battle with prostate cancer.

Lester, who had his own battle with cancer, wore a throwback Sandberg jersey, honoring the Cubs Hall of Famer who is dealing with prostate cancer.

Cubs general manager Carter Hawkins spoke to media members on Friday and gave updates and timetables for the return of two key players.

Sandberg was referring to his Most Valuable Player Award-winning 1984 season in which the Cubs finished first in their division and reached the National League Championship Series. That year, Sandberg also earned one of his nine career Gold Glove Awards, seven career Silver Slugger Awards and 10 career All-Star bids.
