Cold and windy weather remains locked in place across New Hampshire this week, ahead of some light snow by the weekend.Highs will be in the teens and 20s with winds gusting above 35 mph again on Thursday.

If we look at the jet stream for Friday morning, a massive trough will stretch to the south and help spawn a nasty storm that will likely bring some serious wintry conditions to the Southern states.

The National Weather Service's Boston office said a winter storm is expected along the East Coast this weekend, but it is still possible that it could follow a more offshore track, which would not affect the Northeast.

A cold and windy Thursday afternoon and evening will give way to calmer and milder conditions as we head into Friday. The day begins with breezy winds gusting up to 35 mph, but winds will gradually ease as the day progresses.
