Disney takes second with a total of 137 nominations across its brands, while Netflix nabs third place with 120
The Television Academy revealed its 2025 nominees early Tuesday, and Apple TV+’s Severance topped the list with 27 noms. HBO ‘s The Penguin, Apple TV+’s The Studio and HBO’s The White Lotus were the only other shows to score 20-plus noms.
Fueled by a strong slate of contenders that includes The White Lotus (24 nominations), The Penguin (24 nominations), The Last of Us (17 nominations), Hacks (15 nominations), and The Pitt (13 nominations), HBO Max earned a record 142 Emmy nominations across 20 titles — a massive jump from last year's total of just 91.
The all-time Emmy record haul remains the 160 nominations hoovered up by Netflix, also in 2020. This year, Netflix commanded 120, ranking second among platforms and up from last year's 107 noms. Limited series "The Penguin" punched above its weight with 24 nominations.

Shows hosted by Jon Stewart (“The Daily Show”), Stephen Colbert (“The Late Show”) and Jimmy Kimmel (“Jimmy Kimmel Live”) will compete for best talk series. Only three series were nominated this year, leaving “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and “Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney” out in the cold.
The Charleston-filmed HBO series "The Righteous Gemstones" earned 10 Emmy nominations for its fourth and final season for aspects like costumes, stunts and makeup.
The second season of HBO's genre hit racked up a lot of noms, including best lead acting nods for Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal (despite his rather limited screen time).
