Microsoft has backported another Windows 11 app to Windows 10. The updated Windows Media Player (do not confuse it with the classic WMP) is now available for download in the Release Preview Channel.

I wanted to try Windows' Media Player one more time, and I expected it to fall flat. To my surprise, it wasn't all bad.

If you need to play music or movies on your PC, Windows Media Player is not the only option—in fact, you're spoilt for choices.

Either upgrade to Windows 10/11 or install another media player app on your PC.
