The new PayPal app has features for savings, direct deposit, in-app shopping tools, bill pay, and crypto.
Unlike most of its P2P-payment competitors, the PayPal mobile app boasts a safer way to pay strangers for goods and services, as long as you pick the right payment option.
Like Google Wallet, the new PayPal app incorporates deals and discounts that are then automatically applied when you pay.
You can either set it as the default payment method or a secondary which will require opening the Android Pay app and selecting the PayPal card before tapping the NFC terminal.
PayPal is also adding access to bill pay, so you can set up automatic payments to service providers and use “eligible funding sources” from your PayPal wallet to pay them.
The apps work in a similar fashion: you connect the service to your bank account, and it will deduct or add money as you pay friends or receive payments.
