DoorDash Partners With Waymo For Robot Food Delivery
The partnership with Waymo comes a week after DoorDash announced it is working with Serve Robotics SERV to deliver meals from restaurants to customers in Los Angeles. DoorDash also recently launched a small delivery bot of its own, called Dot, that it has tested in Tempe, Ariz. as well as in Phoenix.
The food delivery giant is currently testing the service, which will allow DoorDash customers to receive deliveries via Waymo’s fully autonomous vehicles. Initial deliveries will come from DashMart, the company’s owned and operated convenience and grocery store, with plans to expand to other merchants over time.
Google’s Waymo plans to launch its robotaxi service in Nashville in a partnership with Lyft starting next year, the two companies said Wednesday.
