After being linked to New York following the club’s decision to trade second baseman Jeff McNeil to the Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Ketel Marte is now expected to remain in place. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported that Arizona has no plans to move the three-time All-Star.
To fill that gap, the Yankees have been linked to Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette (being shopped as a second baseman in free agency) and, most recently, Chicago Cubs 2025 Gold Glove second baseman Nico Hoerner in trade.
