An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter Scale struck Mahesana in Gujarat at around 10:15 pm on Friday night. According to the Institute of Seismological Research, Gandhinagar, the earthquake's epicentre was 13 kilometres southwest of Patan.

An earthquake of 4.2 magnitude was recorded in Patan district of north Gujarat on Friday night, the Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) said. While people came out of their houses after feeling the seismic movement, no casualty or loss of property was reported in the region, officials of the state control room in Gandhinagar said.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake was recorded in the Mahesana district of Gujarat. The earthquake was felt at Latitude 23.71 N and Longitude 72.30 E, and at a depth of 10 KM.

The earthquake's epicentre was 13 kilometres southwest of Patan in Gujarat's Banaskantha district, as per the Institute of Seismological Research, Gandhinagar.
