New York State Attorney General Letitia James was indicted by a federal grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia on Oct. 9 on charges of bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution.

A grand jury has indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James on a fraud charge, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Ms. James has called the charges “baseless” and said the indictment was “nothing more than a continuation of the president’s desperate weaponization of our justice system.”
