The Legion Go S is a streamlined PC gaming handheld and the first with SteamOS since Steam Deck; the Go 2 is a full sequel. The Legion Pro 7i gaming laptop also gets a silicon boost.

Today at CES, Lenovo unveiled a slew of new Legion gaming laptops that are set to release in 2025, most of which feature the latest and greatest hardware as well as bigger vents for better cooling.

The Lenovo Legion Go S with Windows or SteamOS also joins a prototype for the Lenovo Go 2, now with controllers you can comfortably hold.

The Legion Pro 7i is the most cutting-edge of the bunch, featuring a new cooling chamber design that sees it crank its potential power draw up to 250W TDP, compared to the Legion Pro 5i and 5's 200W TDP. In all cases, the system's software will be able to modulate both CPU and GPU draw to keep things smooth, too.

Lenovo used CES as a launchpad to refresh a multitude of gaming products, including new handhelds, laptops, desktops, displays, and accessories.

Lenovo is trying an experiment. In May, it will officially become the very first company outside of Valve to ship a handheld gaming PC with the Steam Deck’s wonderfully pick-up-and-play SteamOS instead of Microsoft Windows. And at $499, it’ll be a true Steam Deck rival, joining it as one of the lower-priced PC handhelds you can buy.

Following months of rumors, the new Lenovo Legion Go S has finally arrived, and I'm pretty hyped to see there's a SteamOS version. While I wouldn't go as far to call the laptop maker's new handheld a Steam Deck, it should help normalize PC operating systems that are actually build for portable play.

Lenovo is already announcing one new handheld (or two depending on how you’re counting) at CES 2025. However, that isn’t stopping the company from looking ahead to its next portable gaming device by teasing an early prototype of the Legion Go 2.
