KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A vehicle fire Thursday night has temporarily closed Interstate 77 North in the Sissonville area, according to Metro 911 and West Virginia 511. The incident was reported just after 7 p.m. at mile-marker 116 near the Hanes Branch exit.
The Elgin Fire Department found Karen Schepers’ car in the Fox River three years ago, but believed it was an ATV and did not recover it.
According to the Cape and Islands District Attorney's office, the car went off Route 28 north in Falmouth and down an embankment around 4 p.m.
The vehicle that caught on fire, along with a trailer and multiple vehicles, all suffered significant damage. AFR has reported that there were injuries, but none of them were significant enough to involve a transport to the hospital.
