As the showers dissipate overnight Saturday, another round is expected on Sunday bringing heavy downpours throughout the area.

Thunderstorms could disrupt outdoor celebrations in the east and central U.S., whereas extreme heat is expected in the West.

A few scattered storms for both Saturday and Sunday with a localized flood threat and at perhaps some severe risk as well. June heat and humidity will build into next week.

The number of deaths from drenching rains in San Antonio rose to 11 people on Friday and crews searched for others still missing a day after fast-rising floodwaters tossed and swept away more than a dozen cars into a creek.

A series of slow moving storms left five dead in San Antonio, Texas. The storms are sweeping across the South with millions under flood alerts. Officials say two people are still missing. NBC News’ Jesse Kirsch reports from the storm zone.

The San Antonio Fire Department said rescuers were searching for at least four people missing in the floods. Officials said the death toll may change and their search and recovery efforts will take days.
