A strong cold front swept through Northeast Ohio on Tuesday, delivering the region’s first widespread rainfall in weeks and chipping away at a deficit that’s built since August.
Between 3 and 4 inches of rain fell in Broward County on Friday, coinciding with high tide about noon and submerging some roads. The weekend should be slightly drier and cooler.
“The combination of strong onshore winds, high surf, and high astronomical tides will likely lead to major coastal flooding in the Mid-Atlantic, especially along the coasts of Delaware, southern New Jersey and the Virginia Tidewater,” forecasters said in a Friday afternoon briefing.
