Spike, two-year veteran K-9 with the Burbank Police Department, was fatally shot by a man who was hiding from police Saturday night. The man fired multiple rounds, with at least one bullet striking the 4-year-old Belgian Malinois.
A coward gunned down a police K-9 during a routine traffic stop in California, before also being shot dead when he opened fire at officers following a hours-long standoff. The unidentified shooter had been the passenger in a car that was stopped late Saturday on the I-5 in Burbank for illegally tinted windows, the LA Times reported.
Spike, a Burbank police K-9, was shot and killed while trying to apprehend an armed suspect, who was fatally shot in an exchange of gunfire during an ensuing standoff.
