The Federal Aviation Administration said on Sunday that a new telecommunications issue at the facility that guides aircraft at Newark Liberty International Airport forced the agency to briefly slow aircraft in and out of the airport.

A 45-minute-long ground stop at Newark Liberty International Airport has been lifted. The ground stop was put in place by the FAA in response to an air traffic control equipment outage. This outage comes after two similar equipment outage incidents – one on April 28 and the other on May 9.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Newark Liberty International Airport would reduce flights for several weeks after delays and equipment issues.
