The Miami Heat (3-1) travel to Frost Bank Center to face the San Antonio Spurs (4-0) in NBA action on Thursday night.

With the win in Spurs vs Heat, Wembanyama's side marked the first time in franchise history they’ve started a season with five straight wins.

The San Antonio Spurs have unveiled a banner celebrating Gregg Popovich. They did it quietly during their home opener on Sunday.

During a pickup game, Fox unexpectedly showed up to the Red McCombs Community Court at Hemisfair Park with plenty of his new Spurs Fiesta-themed D. Fox 2 'Gamer' sneakers. And from the looks of it, the players were thrilled at the opportunity to meet with the Spurs guard and show off their free kicks.

As the San Antonio Spurs played their home opener of the 2025-26 season on Sunday, Oct. 26, fans noticed some new decor in Frost Bank Center: a banner honoring former head coach Gregg Popovich as the winningest coach in NBA history. There was no ceremony, no fanfare, no announcement. It truly honored the legacy that Popovich left behind.

The Spurs have been one of the league’s most consistent and successful franchises, including coaching since joining the NBA in the 1976-77 season.

Wembanyama posted a Spurs franchise record for most points in a season opener with his 40-piece against the Mavericks; he also grabbed 15 boards and shot 71.4% in that 125-92 rout over Dallas on Oct. 22. He became just the sixth player in NBA history to record such a stat line in any regular season game.

Twas the night before the Spurs Game, and all through the air, the scent of Mary Jane wafted through with flair.
