Senator Elizabeth Warren condemned Trump’s threats on Friday, saying his attacks on Cook are unlawful and politically motivated.

President Donald Trump said Friday that he will fire Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook if she does not resign over mortgage fraud allegations, an escalation in the Trump administration’s pressure campaign on the central bank.

Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte accused Cook of mortgage fraud this week, alleging she claimed two properties as her primary address.
