The mystery surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2025 first-round draft pick only deepened ahead of Sunday’s Raiders Game
Kansas City Chiefs rookie left tackle Josh Simmons will reportedly return to the team "in a few weeks" as he deals with a "family situation," according to ESPN's Nate Taylor.
Simmons, the No. 32 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, returned home to California prior to the Chiefs' Week 6 game and was ruled out on the availability report with a "personal" designation. Coach Andy Reid initially declined to comment on the situation but this week offered a positive update on his first-year offensive lineman.
On Friday, ESPN’s Nate Taylor reported that the Chiefs were hopeful Simmons could return to the team during the team’s bye week. That bye week comes in Week 10, meaning Simmons would miss a Week 9 game against the Buffalo Bills before returning to possibly be back in action for a Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos.
Andy Reid told the media to move on should they have any more questions regarding the absence of Josh Simmons.
After missing his team's Week 6 win over the Detroit Lions due to what was described as a "family situation," Kansas City Chiefs rookie left tackle Josh Simmons was ruled out of the team's Week 7 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday after missing practice throughout the week for personal reasons.
A Kansas City Chiefs insider has identified a specific ‘natural’ date for Josh Simmons to end his mysterious absence.
