The National Weather Service says there is a Tornado Emergency for Huntsville near Highway 72 and Jeff Road. Madison County is in a Tornado Warning until 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.

A powerful EF2 tornado tore through Eastern Madison County on Tuesday as part of a larger supercell system that marched across North Central Alabama, leaving behind a 1.4-mile path of destruction through the Killingsworth Cove area.

Following Tuesday’s storms, the NWS will be surveying storm damage across North Alabama. They plan to conduct surveys in Colbert, Jackson, Lawrence, Limestone, and Madison counties.
