India is in mourning after an Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot was killed in a Tejas fighter jet crash during a demonstration at the Dubai Air Show on Friday. Leaders across the country, from the military to political figures, have expressed grief and paid tribute to the pilot’s courage and service.

An Indian Air Force pilot was killed after a Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) crashed at the Dubai Air Show today (November 21) afternoon. This is the second Tejas crash in over two decades since the aircraft’s maiden flight.

An Indian fighter aircraft, the indigenously developed Tejas Mk1A, crashed during a demonstration flight at the Dubai Air Show on Friday. The jet, developed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), crashed at about 2:10pm local time.
