"Golden Bachelor" star Mel Owens has acknowledged that his comments about only wanting to date women younger than him were "insensitive."

ABC’s next Golden Bachelor star made quite a stir earlier this summer when he commented about his desired 45-60 age range for the women who will be vying for his attention on the senior-aged spinoff of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

The reality star says he didn't realize his comments were hurtful and that he apologized to the bachelorettes on the first night.
