There's a moderate flash flood risk Wednesday in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes, the NWS says, with a slight risk in St. Tammany Parish and Hancock County, Mississippi.

Dangerous severe weather and potentially life-threatening flooding continue to threaten communities across the South from Texas through Louisiana and Mississippi along the Gulf Coast on Wednesday.

A storm system tracking across the South could generate tornadoes from Texas to Mississippi. On top of that, a significant flash flood threat will take aim at the northern Gulf Coast.
