Eligible Fortnite players who felt bamboozled into making unwanted purchases have been given a second chance to request a refund. The Federal Trade Commission has reopened applications to receive refunds from the $245 million settlement that Epic Games reached with the agency until July 9th, after previously closing requests in February.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced plans to send $126 million in refunds to 969,173 Fortnite players who say they were charged for unwanted in-game items, like cosmetic skins. The consumer protection agency is also reopening the claims process, allowing additional players affected by the issue to file claims of their own.

The ongoing refund programme related to the Fortnite settlement, agreed by Epic Games in 2023, has now reached nearly £157 million ($200 million), according to the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC). With the remaining funds shrinking, the agency has urged eligible players to file their claims as soon as possible.
