Delta to cut some flights under FAA plan, offering flexibility for flyers
Delta Air Lines will comply with an FAA order to cut flights at 40 major U.S. airports starting Friday, likely including Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson, while offering flexible options for travelers affected by the reductions.
For starters, the Federal Aviation Administration announced in its press release, "Airlines will be required to issue full refunds. They will not be required to cover secondary costs. This is the normal procedure when a delay or cancellation is not at the fault of the carrier."
The FAA will reduce air traffic at 40 airports following the staffing shortages among air traffic controllers.
