Spike, two-year veteran K-9 with the Burbank Police Department, was fatally shot by a man who was hiding from police Saturday night. The man fired multiple rounds, with at least one bullet striking the 4-year-old Belgian Malinois.

A portion of the 5 Freeway in Burbank was closed on Saturday night after an armed suspect allegedly shot and killed a police canine. The shooting happened near the Buena Vista Street offramp to northbound lanes of the freeway, Burbank police officers told CBS Los Angeles.

BURBANK, Ill. (WLS) -- A three-car crash has closed a road in south suburban Burbank Monday afternoon, police said. The crash closed 79th Street from Laramie Avenue to Leclaire Avenue, police said. The public has been asked to avoid the area, use caution and consider alternate routes.

Three people have been arrested for an alleged robbery that targeted the victims of a two-car crash in Burbank last weekend, police said. Officers were called to the intersection of Third Street and Delaware Road at around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, upon learning of a crash, said a news release from the Burbank Police Department.
