A lawsuit was filed against the Mountain West Conference, the California State University system, San Jose State University's head women's volleyball coach, and two administrators surrounding the ongoing controversy that one of the Spartans' players was reported to be transgender.

A lawsuit filed against the Mountain West Conference on Wednesday asks for a San Jose State University volleyball player to be declared ineligible for the MWC tournament, SJSU's wins to be vacated and the entire team to be deemed tournament ineligible.

The plaintiffs include SJSU co-captain Brooke Slusser, assistant coach Melissa Batie-Smoose and two former Spartans players.
