Alibaba Group Holding missed analysts' estimates for second-quarter sales on Friday, as persistent economic uncertainty sapped consumer spending in China and weighed on the e-commerce group's domestic business.

Alibaba Group shares traded in the U.S. were lower in Friday morning trading after the Chinese ecommerce giant posted higher-than-expected quarterly earnings but revenue was lower than Wall Street anticipated.
